Top reasons to use VARSearch to find ArtiSoft, Avaya, Lucent Technologies, Mitel, NEC Communications, Nortel Networks, ShoreTel, Toshiba, and Vodavi dealers.

If there is one thing the Internet is good for, it's networking - finding the people who have the skills and expertise that can give you the help you need. Aside from rocket science, there really isn't anything more technical on this planet than communications, specifically computer networks, telephone systems, and voice over internet phone systems. Not only do most manufacturers of this equipment not have direct sales outlets, they do not even pick up the phone if you haven't be certified and trained in their product set. That is where the VAR (Value Added Reseller) comes in - to act as your conduit to these telephone and network equipment companies (such as Switchvox Phone System, Avaya Phone System, Toshiba Phone System, ShoreTel Phone System, NEC Phone System, and Lucent Phone System just to name a few). They can sell you the gear you need and, more importantly, set up the system for you. Finding the VARs who do a good job is not an easy proposition. From the yellow pages you can find all of the bigger dealers who can afford to pay the thousands of dollars per year to take out advertisements there, but what about the highly skilled smaller companies? How can you find trusted, reliable VARs that aren't adept at manipulating mass media? The answer is VARSearch!

GeoQuote

Why shouldn't shopping for a dedicated internet service be as simple as shopping for a plane trip to Hawaii? In the past the process of getting pricing for dedicated internet service has been anything but simple but that has just changed. Today getting a t1 line price is as simple as entering your information and hitting "enter". With GeoQuote software brokers are now offering real-time T1 prices just like you had hoped you could get when you started your search. GeoQuote is a software recently released that allows brokers to give real-time pricing to those seeking service. The software is doing for the telecom industry what Sabre did for the travel industry.

Finding the right T1 provider

Telecommunications contracts can be much like a marriage and as we all know there are good and bad marriages. The fact is, when you enter into a telecommunications contract with a T1 provider for reasonable amount of bandwidth or voice service you will have to enter into a long term contract. Telecommunications contracts for T1's and T3's typically range from 1 year to 3 years. Anything longer than a 3 year contract is usually only seen in very large applications like OC3 and OC12 or complex frame relay connections with many nodes. While the term of the contract will not be a problem if you have the right provider, the contract could prove extremely burdensome with the wrong provider.

VAR (Value Added Reseller) is the person who is physically located near the customer and can service their T1 equipment, their networking gear, and their telecom system. The concept always sounded novel, but creating the software, building the database of VARs, and more importantly, figuring out which VARs are worthy of your business proved to be very challenging. We sifted through mountains of applicants from Cisco Partners, ShoreTel Partners, Lucent Partners, NEC Partners, 3Com Partners, Toshiba Partners, Avaya Partners, Vodavi Partners, Nortel Partners, Mitel Partners, and many more. After screening our group of VARs, we continue to monitor their performance through customer feedback interviews. If a VAR in our system takes advantage of a customer, if they arrive to the job late, if they don't do what they say they would do - they won't be listed in VARSearch for long.

T1 Coverage Area

Unlike DSL and other broadband technologies that are limited to only densely populated areas, T1 service is available just about anywhere with a phone line. T1, also known as DS1, uses repeaters to boost up the signal streght of the transmission - allowing it to travel up to 50 miles away from the nearest Central Office location. Our coverage area includes all of the United States.

VAR Coverage Area

VARSearch is unique in that it finds the local networking and telecom hardware experts in your area that actaully do a good job. Most of them have been reviewed by previous customers like you, as well as by a group of experienced telecom services sales agents. Each VAR in our results table may not have a tremendous amount of marketing savvy, but that's exactly why we created VARSearch - to help people searching the net find the BEST VAR, not the one with the biggest advertising budget. Our results cover all 50 United States, but not Canada or Puerto Rico. In the next revision of our software, we plan to include a lot more area outside of the United States.

DSL has been hailed as a great solution for residential broadband needs. You may have heard this term from friends and neighbors when talking about their fast internet connection. It's true, DSL is much faster then a dial-up internet connection, but is it all it's cracked up to be? With speeds of up to 140 times faster than dial up internet access its definitely fast but the problem is you don't always get the advertised speed. Your DSL connection is highly dependant on your distance from the phone company. If you're over 5,000 feet your signal will begin to drop off and your connection will be degraded, i.e. slower speed. At about 15,000 feet from the phone company (3 miles) your signal will completely cut off.
